Twenty-five years ago it was an exercise between a girl and her mother. Today it’s always fifty-fifty bride and groom – and if you don’t think it’s changed the face of American retail and, of course, the American home – think again!
On top of this we have blended households complete with his and her sets of china and blenders and fondue sets. What are the new Registry options? NAW shares some of the best – from trips to trees. Tell us your bridal registry stories:
We registered on line to places like Amazon.com and Home Depot. We had a house together and were living far away from family and friends when we were married, but we needed many things for our first home. We were able to get many of the things we needed with a few really great extras like spa.com gift certificatesand even though we were in Wyoming and family was in Illinois, we got a great gift certificate for a few nights at a lodge in Yellowstone! So most of our gifts were practical and much needed but there were no toasters or coffee makers, none of the things we already had! The net is a wonderful resource!
